Jacoby for Podestà of Constantinople and other articles related to the Latin Empire and Venice in the 13th century, Saint-Guillain for the Duchy of Naxos and associated articles about 13th-century Latin rulers in the Cyclades, Kiesewetter for the foundation of the County palatine of Cephalonia and Zakynthos and its first rulers. Saint-Guillain and Kiesewetter especially are valuable because they offer a much-needed corrective to the conjectures of the 19th-century historian Karl Hopf, which are still present in most related articles.

Hi guys, I'm looking for the Worms game reviews from the magazines listed above (the list will be updated if I find info about other reviews that I need but can't find online). I'm working on the article about Worms in another language section of Wikipedia, and I have reasons to believe that these articles will help me with my research. These particular magazines are nowhere to be found online and not even for sale, and in my country there's no way to request anything from American or British libraries. Hoping you could help me.

Thanks, Coolak (talk) 11:22, 18 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Coolak: Requested via ILL. We'll see how many of these I actually obtain copies of. Compassionate727 (T·C) 14:23, 28 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Coolak:, Are you only interested in reviews for the original Amiga/PC port of "Worms"? I found a review for the Game Boy port from British "Nintendo Magazine system". KHR FolkMyth (talk) 15:04, 30 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@KHR FolkMyth I'm interested in its reviews for any platform, but I've already been doing a several year long research and I already have most of them, including NMS. I just want to also get the ones not available online. I occasionally find such and will add them to this list, provided that I exhausted other options of getting them. If it's available online, there's a 99% chance I already have it. Coolak (talk) 17:59, 30 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, then. KHR FolkMyth (talk) 18:28, 30 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Coolak: What year was this game made? My librarian says they won't be able to find these without a sense of when to look. Compassionate727 (T·C) 15:25, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Compassionate727: Hi, each magazine on my list already had the specific issue with the Worms review, but now I've also added the month/year of each. You probably misunderstood me, there's no need to search through a lot of magazines, in each case the specific issue is known. Thank you. Coolak (talk) 19:49, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Facepalm Facepalm I can't believe I didn't realize those were issue numbers. Forwarded this information to my librarian. Compassionate727 (T·C) 12:49, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Compassionate727: Actually... If your librarian is willing to search some magazines whithout a specific issue in mind, I would dare to add several such magazines to the list. Hadn't done so at first because I didn't think it was possible at all. If that's okay with you and your librarian, I would definitely appreciate this additional help. Added several such magazines where I'm unsure about any Worms acticles, for each one I narrowed down the range of issues as much as possible. Coolak (talk) 21:47, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, here is where I am at. My librarian has submitted three of the requests. One was to the Library of Congress, who I am told will not respond for a while. There are no lenders for the PSExtreme article; I can't help you there. For PC Power and CD-ROM Games, my librarian says that they will need to ask lenders outside the United States and that they "will take extra time to fill" but that she can pursue it "if these articles are important for your research." I'm sure the cost is a salient factor, even though she didn't mention it. Do you want me to ask for those two? Compassionate727 (T·C) 15:55, 10 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ping Coolak Compassionate727 (T·C) 15:56, 10 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I can't be 100% sure that it will turn out very important for my research, but I have reasons to believe it may. These particular two magazines aren't for sale anywhere on eBay, etc, and they're not even in the British libraries that are open for online requests. I can say this is pretty important for me. Then, if I can express my gratitude in a form of some donation or anything, that is also no problem. Coolak (talk) 21:13, 10 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Coolak: I have told her to make the requests. And no need for a donation or anything; it will be my college's stuffy millionaire donors paying for these, not me. Compassionate727 (T·C) 22:03, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Coolak: One just arrived, please send me an email. Compassionate727 (T·C) 14:32, 15 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I already have it. Yes Sent. Compassionate727 (T·C) 15:19, 15 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes Sent Intelligent Gamer's Fusion. Also, I am told that PC Power is only held by the British Library and they won't lend it, and that no lenders hold the December 1995 issue of CD-ROM Games, so I can't help with either of those. Compassionate727 (T·C) 15:02, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ping Coolak. Compassionate727 (T·C) 15:02, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Compassionate727 That's unfortunate, but understood. Thank you for the scans provided so far. I'll leave the relevant requests open. Coolak (talk) 22:55, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Coolak, Following up on the above two messages. I see you haven’t edited here in nearly two months, but had an edit on the Russian Wikipedia a few days ago (after a similar period of inactivity), so you may have missed them. --Usernameunique (talk) 16:35, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Usernameunique I kindly ask for an extension of processing this request, since I've been too immersed with work lately, hence completely putting Wikipedia aside for the time being. But continuing with my Worms research is my number one priority for my spare time, that is, when I get to have it. Coolak (talk) 23:54, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Jo-Jo Eumerus, I prepared a zip file with those where I did not need much additional input from you. All of these sources were available via the Wikipedia Library. I do have some follow-up questions and notes though:
  1. [45] Which chapters or pages do you need, except for the first one you mention two links later? Anyway the first chapter contains no information about pulsar planets that might be useful for you.
  2. The OCR in the Brave New Worlds chapter is broken, so I sent you all of it after checking that at least some parts of the chapter refer to pulsar planets.
  3. The OCR in this chapter is broken, but I was able to get only the relevant parts.
  4. [46] Which chapters or pages do you need?
  5. This chapter has no relevant information about pulsar planets.
  6. This chapter had no relevant information about pulsar planets.
  7. In this chapter, the only relevant information is this sentence: "Wolszczan and his discovery of pulsar planets had barely registered on the media's radar screen." (p. 52); besides, it's not "Planetary Hyge" but "Planetary Hype".
Also, I already fulfilled your ScienceDirect request below. Szmenderowiecki (talk) 10:38, 30 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

For Draft:Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education

Google Books copies of these two publications don't show page numbers, so I can't rely on the previews for citations. I'm hoping an actual PDF or print scan copy will have them. These two sources cover a 2005 case of the Constitutional Court of Indonesia that mandates the government to spend 20 percent of its budget on education. In the 2018 source, it might be in the chapter titled "A heroic social leadership", but I can't be certain. The information in the 2020 source should be in the chapter I indicated, but, again, I can't be certain without seeing it.

Any other good looking references not on the draft would be appreciated, I still have one month until I get WPL access. Schminnte (talk ? contribs) 23:25, 28 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Schminnte, I have access to some sources, but one by one. First, I want to know if you need only references for the piano piece, the saxophone piece or both. It appears fron the sources you prpose that you need both, but just to make sure.
I have access to #1, but I will only send the table of contents and pages in the book mentioning Scaramouche. For copyright reasons, I can't send you the whole book.
I have no access to #2.
#4 is a very short article that refers to a particular performance, hardly useful but I can send it as well.
I only have access to the ToC of #3, but no text. Szmenderowiecki (talk) 09:01, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I understand that you can't send me the whole book, so pages mentioning Scaramouche in an appropriate amount of depth would be appreciated. Unfortunately for ref 3, the table of contents is pretty much the extent of what I can see, so is of no more help. Hi, @Schminnte, I have access to #3, but it is an masters thesis which may not be the quality you are looking for ("Masters dissertations and theses are considered reliable only if they can be shown to have had significant scholarly influence."). Archives of the Arab News about Riyadh Japanese School and International Philippine School in Riyadh (formerly Philippine Embassy School in Riyadh)

For Riyadh Japanese School and International Philippine School in Riyadh

I'm trying to find archives of the Arab News (an English language newspaper from Saudi Arabia) about the two schools above.

The Philippine school opened in 1985 and was formerly known as the "Philippine Embassy School in Riyadh" (see CFO-PSO page). The Japanese School was also established in 1985. I am hoping that there are articles about the establishments of those schools written by the Arab News.

For Milton Grant

You might need to live in the Washington, D.C., area for this one. Regardie's was a 1980s and early 1990s business magazine in Washington and its August 1988 cover story is one of the longest interviews with Grant (a famously reticent man) ever conducted. American University has it in its stacks, but Gale does not have full-text coverage far enough back for this publication, and ProQuest (ProQuest 198871550) is missing only this article from the issue in full-text coverage.
